Sorry if Im beginning to sound a bit dramatic but the sad truth is that more people are dying from obesity each year and trends are showing that it is now starting at an earlier age. Many people feel depressed when they are over weight, its an unfortunate reality that must be combatted by the people themselves and with the help of the people around them such as friends, family, teachers and especially the government.
Studies have shown that the more over weight you are the more likely you are to develop health problems such as heart, disease, strokes, diabetes, certain types of cancer, gout and gallbladder disease. There are more to add to the list but it would go on for too long. The heavier you are the more likely it is for these problems to develop.
However losing losing 10 to 20 pounds can reduce these risks massively. Steady and healthy weight loss will improve your overall health dramatically and lower the risk of developing disease.
Diabetes
Non insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (type 2 diabetes). This is the most common type of diabetes in the western world, reducing the body's ability to control blood sugar it is a big contributor towards early death, heart disease, kidney disease, stroke and blindness. Overweight people are twice as likely to develop diabetes type 2 than a healthy person is.
Heart Disease and Strokes
Both heart disease and strokes are the health problems that are more likely to kill you than any of the others if you are over weight. If you are overweight you are much more vulnerable to high blood pressure which is a big factor towards developing Heart disease or having a stroke, again exercise will reduce the risk of having high blood pressure.
Lowering your Health Risks
Physical activity is the best way to lower your health risks, if you make sure that you do 30 minutes of physical activity every day of the week then you will not only feel better for it but you will be a much more healthier person. Another must when you are over weight is to eat healthier foods, dont eat all this fast food eat healthy food like pasta and salads which will promote the physical training you will be doing all week.
