I have to say, Making money online is great i havent met anybody that doesnt like to make money via the web yet. I think you could potentially earn a lot of money online with hubpages and quite quickly aswell.

Some people love to write, it comes natural to them and they have a passion for it, many writers on hubpages are just like this and are satisfied with people reading their articles, but most people on hubpages are here to try and earn some money from their effort and rightly so as well. Writing articles for money and websites like hubpages really is a great opportunity to earn a second source of income while you do something else in the day. Ive learnt from making a lot of research that the key to making it big on hubpages is purely patience, that’s right if you can sit and wait you’ll be fine as long as you add a few hubs in here and there of course. So if your going to do what I suggest you do in this hub you must be determined and motivated to make money online.

Its not a blog, it’s a hub!

First of all lets start off with the difference between blogs and hubs. Blogs are there for you to update everyday and sometimes even act as a diary, you should not treat hubs like a diary! A hub is there to fill with original and informative content that its readers will still find useful in years to come, it could be anything from changing a tyre to teaching your child the alphabet. On hubpages the best ways of making some is by using google ad sense, kontera and amazon. Personally I think you will earn more money with hubs than you ever will with blogs.

Google adsense is an ad serving application run by google. Website owners can create text or image ads to be advertised on google’s search pages, the owners pay google for each click they get on an advertisement. With google adsense running in your hubs every time a visitor clicks on an advertisement you will earn a small amount, but if you are generating 1000’s of views a day then this could turn into quite a nice amount of money.

Kontera provides in text advertising and information services. Kontera analyzes your content for keywords and highlights the ones that can be used as advertisements. Each time a viewer clicks on one you earn an incentive.

The Amazon Affiliate program can earn you some mega bucks, it selects content and chooses products that are associated with the content and then places them for sale on your hub. Everytime somebody buys a product from your hub you will earn a fair amount of money.

Which is the Best?

A lot of people claim to make most of there money from amazon but I personally don’t use it because of the following reasons

• It confuses a reader from a search engine
• Stops the flow of the article
• Is more likely to make a visitor exit the page

So personally I only use Google Adsense and prefer to keep it that way. Kontera is only recommended for people who are already making over $100 a month because their minimum payout is $100.

Can you write a good article?

Im sure you can but lets make sure its good before you publish it. Hubpages is a great place to publish how to articles, there are millions of tutorial searches on the internet each day and with hub pages being hugely search engine friendly you have a good chance of being found somewhere. This is fine but you must remember that you are carrying the reputation of the whole hubbing community (no pressure) and if your hub is of poor quality then they will most definitely associate hub pages with poor content every other time they come across it. Remember Content is king.

Adsense to the rescue!

The majority of hubbers will tell you that most of their income comes from google adsense. But exactly how does this all work?

Once you have modified your hubs to show the advertisements hubpages will then show your affiliate code 60% of the time and theirs 40% so whenever somebody clicks on your ads you will earn all of the clicks worth. 60% is not bad considering there is a lot of technical stuff that you do not have to deal with, especially for beginners.

When writing an articles it is important to write original content otherwise hub pages will not give you a good hubscore and your hub will not be seen by many people, also by using descriptive keywords in your article you are allowing google adsense to read your articles easier which results in more appropriate advertisements being placed on your hubs.

Money to be made from referrals?

hub pages claims that if a visitor signs up from a link with your tracking code in it then your affiliate code will be displayed on their hubs 10% of the time. This means that if you can sign up some serious hubbers then you could earn quite a bit of extra cash if you drop lucky that is.

The 30 day hub challenge

This is a great challenge for beginners at hub pages. If you think you can write 30 hubs in 30 days or if you would like to see if you can then you should give it a go. If you do this your guaranteed to see a boost in your traffic, and if you make your hubs around 1500 words long you will get a higher hubscore than usual. With this traffic you could earn some big money. My personal challenge is to write around 200 hubs this year.

Evergreen Content

It is really hard to write an article and generate a continuous stream of income from it because things change all the time, but what you can do is increase the chances of earning long term with hubs by publishing what we call ever green content, these articles are the ‘How to’ articles that people will be looking for in years to come and may stumble across yours.

Being yourself

It really works well just being yourself on hub pages and writing about your own interests and doing it for your own personal reason, sometimes the people that do this are the ones that earn the most money. If you duplicate content found on the web google will not take you seriously and nor will hub pages, you will be given a bad score and will be rated down by other hubbers

Promoting your hub on social networks

You can really get some good traffic from advertising your links and articles on websites such as digg.com and facebook, as well as this you could pick up some good referrals on the way.

Although digg and facebook are very popular I believe the best place to go for traffic is twitter, twitter allows you to update your status as many times as you would like in a day, you can post anything from what you are doing to links to your articles. The trick is to find people that are interested in making money or writing then following them in the hope they will follow you in return. If they follow you in return then they will see your daily updates and maybe will click on your link and join hubpages.
